Outer Banks Surf Instruction will help you realize your surfing dream. Surfing is a sport which one can do for a lifetime.
We at OBSI will endeavor to get you comfortable in the ocean and put you on a wave.

We will come to your location or recommend a location near you where the waves are best for learning. Summer surf on The Outer Banks is generally three feet or less and good for beginners. When the wave size increases above two feet we can teach those who want to move out into deep water how to expand their skills.

OBSI will also teach you about being in the ocean and how to deal with rip currents as well as long shore current. The other important aspect of surfing is sun protection and we can fill you in on how to protect yourself from sunburn.

We provide soft boards for beginners and novices and we have fiberglass boards for intermediate surfers.

Our instructors have completed Red Cross Senior Lifesaving and CPR certification.
