Greg
Hamby began surfing in 1967 in Virginia Beach. Greg
first surfed the Outer Banks in 1968. His surfing
experience began when there were only 30lb 9' plus
boards. In that time there were no surf leashes so one
had to hold on to your board or swim to the beach to
retrieve it. He has spent time surfing in Hawaii on
Kauai, Oahu, and Kona on The Big Island . He has surfed
Mainland and Baja Mexico, Tahiti, Tikihau in The Tuamotu
Atolls, The Bahamas, California from Santa Cruz to San
Diego and The East Coast from Virginia to Florida.
Greg will be able to get you going in surfing and
further your experience past the novice stage.

Allison's surfing is grace under pressure
Allison
Jones began surfing on the Outer Banks in 1982. She is a
graduate of Manteo High School. Allison is a two time
Eastern Surfing Association junior women's Outer Banks
and Mid Atlantic Champion. She has placed third at the
East Coast Championships in Cape Hattteras.
Allison has surfed in Hawaii in Waikiki and the Kona
Coast of The Big Island of Hawaii in double overhead
conditions. Allison's surfing is grace under pressure.
Allison's husband John is also an instructor.

John and Allison are
married with a daughter Addie who is surfing as well.
John has surfed in Hawaii, Mexico, Costa Rica and The
Virgin Islands. John has a smooth and powerful style, is
an expert at catching the wave and much can be learned
by observing his technique.

We have four instructors with a combined surfing
experience of 139 years the fourth...Tony Beugless
began surfing on The New Jersey Shore in 1973. Tony
and his wife Renee have lived on The Outer Banks for
18 years and have two sons, Anthony 13 and Brandon
10 who are also surfing.
Tony began surfing The Outer Banks in 1980. He has
surfed The East coast from New England to Florida as
well as Costa Rica, Puerto Rico, Oregon and California.
Tony is a strong surfer who excels on a long board in
all sizes of waves. Tony is a certified EMT, has been a
full time firefighter as well as being involved in ocean
rescue during his firefighting employment. Tony has a
wealth of experience to share with you.
